Notes for James Coursey, Dr./Parthena Mott

Source #1
Email from Carson Ray
Divorced in Clark County, Alabama in 1827. She and son, Valentine (Valintas) Coursey moved to Texas with her parents in 1833, without James Coursey. She indicated to officials in Texas that she was widowed. I had found a reference in a book on Woodville Republican newspaper (out of Mississippi) indicating the death of a James Coursey in Monticello, Mississippi in 1830. It is not certain that this is our James Coursey--Needs more research. Valentine appears to have been their only child.
