Notes for John Sims
Information on John Sims' first wife, Ann or Anna ?Robertson? (not sure) and their children, was provided in an email dated 17 May 1998, from Sarah Cannon .
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------
It is not known when or where John moved westward. He married a young widow, Apoles Foster McGough, with a girl-child and lived for some time near Woodville, Texas on a farm in the piney woods. His wife give him a large family, including two sets of twins. He died close to the birth of his last set of twins and was buried in an unmarked grave in one of his fields.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------
According to a 1950 Tyler County Texas Census, His name is idenified as James Mann Sims, not John. I'm not sure if that information is accurate. Most sources that I have found show John.
