Notes for William Symes, Sir

Symes Coat of Arms
(from Harlein Society publication, page 110)

"Azure, three scallops, or; crest, a demi hind, rampant and erased, or." This roughly translated means:
a shield with head and probably raised forefoot of a female stag (torn from its body), with 3 shells, the whole done in Blue and Gold coloring.

William Symes of Chard, then of Poundsford in Pitminster, County,
Somerset, merchant, held manors of Barwick, Boure, and Stoford, County,
Somerset, and Franklin, Co. Dorset. Will dated June 4 and proved July 27,
1597.

I also found William and Elizabeth's children in the International
Genealogical Index, Somerset County, England, Edition 1992, with a
Leonard Hill as a relative to the children. All the children listed are
in the IGI Files in Somerset County, England. What Leonard Hill's
relationship to Elizabeth Hill is, I do not know.

To transfer this information to every page would be a waste of not only
paper but computer memory also, therefore; I will list the following
books, mircofish and notes one time. Thereafter they will be A though ?.
