Uriah, Mary Eliza Farmer, Virginia Lee Smith and Benjimany are buried at Henagar's Chapel Cemetery-Bradley County, Cleveland, Tennessee.

Uriah was married four times, and never divorced any of them, he outlived them all. His first wife died of Typhoid Fever within 6 months of their marriage and they had no children. His first three wives were verified by the Meigs County-Decatur, Tennessee Archives at the library and his last wife, Virginia verified by the Bradley County-Cleveland, Tennessee Archives at the library.

Uriah died of Apoplexy (Stroke) and was found by his mailman in his Blacksmith Shope in Bradley County, Cleveland, Tennessee. The funeral director, Walter Fike, came out in a rain storm, and embalmed him at his home. Buried at Henegar's Chapel-Methodist Church from 1847-1951 (Closed), bought by the Baptist and is now Henegar's Baptist Church from 1972 tp present. Located from Highway 11 to Mouse Creek Valley Road-~6 mi. to church at Bradley County-Cleveland, Tennessee.

Private Uriah Cooper Melton, Co. "H", 5th Regiment, East Tennessee Volunteers, GAR (Ground Army of the Republic). Was later Co. "I". Enlisted March 31, 1862, Camp Pine Knot for a 3 year term. Mustered out May 1865.

His home was 7 or 8 miles out of Cleveland, Tennessee closse to the Hardwick Farms.

Cause of Death: Ceberal Hemmorage.
