Information in an email from Carson Ray of Indianapolis, dated: 11 Aug 1998, stated:
" James was killed by the Comanche Indians. He was buried on the banks of the Buffalo Bayou. The South Pacific rail station in Houston is built over his grave. Parthiene was deeded one laboure of land by the Supreme gov't which took James' grave in. [I assume that means the land given encompassed his grave-CR] She was called as a nurse to the battle of San Jacinto. She was wounded in both arms above the elbows. She was sent to New York for recouperation. She died on Nov 17, 1883."
