Notes for Anne

None of the persons well-known to us both who have pursued serious research of the Turbervilles through documentation have been able to find any direct identification of Anne's surname before her marriage to Richard. There were a couple of records referenced in Nugent's books on Virginia land patents that mention an Ann Turberfeild and an Ann Turberveild. But no documentation suggesting any association or kinship with a Bacon family. None showing her first name was other than "Ann" or "Anne". No records show her as Elizabeth Ann.
