Roster of Confederate Soldiers of Georgia lists a Simeon (or Simon) Beckworth enlisted as private in Company E, 5th Regiment, GA State Troops October 12, 1861, Mustered out May 1862. Enlisted as a private in Company G, 32nd Regiment, GVI, Army of Tennessee, Emanuel County, GA May 7, 1862. Transferred to Company C, 1st Battalion, GA Sharpshooters July 30, 1862. Sick in General Hospital August 1864.
