John was born in Scotland, married Mary, moved to Ireland, had five children, and came to America in 1790 with William and Samuel, and eventually settled with them in Washington County in western Pennsylvania. William by this time was already married and had two sons, all of whom were on the boat. Samuel prospered in Washington County. John and William moved from there to Frankfort Springs in the part of Beaver County that later became Lawrence County.
John's older sons, John and James, might have emigrated to America earlier.
I have not yet keyboarded the info for John's (1720) son Samuel (b. abt 1760), but attached a gedcom file for the descendants of John's son William (b. 1758), with 352.
